Chain Link Pipe Scanner
A lightweight manually operated modular scanner for corrosion mapping or circumferential weld inspection of pipes ranging from 4.5” to 48” OD.
The CLiP Weld scanner easily adjusts to different pipe sizes with secure clip-fastening chain links. These easily secure around a range of material types for fast efficient UT, TOFD and phased array inspections.
Using low-profile chain links, rather than magnetic wheels, the CLiP Weld Scanner can be secured around ferrous, non-ferrous and composite pipes for ultrasonic testing (UT), Time of flight diffraction (TOFD), and phased array (PA) inspections.
The chain link design helps to keep the scanner placement on a straight circumferential path by eliminating steering issues. The links can also be utilised to rotate the scanner around the pipe, making inspections possible when obstructions limit movement or in areas with difficult access.
