The Institute’s aim is to promote the advancement of the science and practice of non-destructive testing (NDT), condition monitoring (CM), diagnostic engineering and all other materials and quality testing disciplines.
Phoenix Inspection Systems Limited is a corporate member of BINDT.

The American Society for Nondestructive Testing serves the NDT professions in North America and helps promote NDT technologies.

The Canadian Institute for NDE is the membership society which promotes the development of the profession in Canada.

EPSRC is the main UK government agency for funding research and training in engineering and the physical sciences, investing more than £800 million a year in a broad range of subjects – from mathematics to materials science, and from information technology to structural engineering.

RCNDE is an EPSRC-sponsored collaboration between industry and academia to coordinate research into NDE technologies, and to ensure research topics are relevant to the medium to longer-term needs of industry.

IMechE provides training in all major NDT and inspection methods from Level 1 to Level 3 in internationally recognised central and employer-based certification schemes.

Lavender International provides training and examinations suitable for internationally recognised central and employer-based certification schemes. Lavender also works in collaboration with UK colleges to support the delivery of two types of NDT Apprenticeships: the NDT Operator and the NDT Technician.

TWI provides welding technology and inspection related training leading to internationally recognised qualifications. Certification delivers benefits to industry through the acquisition of new competencies and increased business capabilities.

NDT.net is an online database with information and news about the NDT industry worldwide.
